The 2nd Annual Spring Fair to benefit the Forgotten Friends of Long Island Animal Rescue will be held this Saturday May 18, 2013 at Garden of Eve Organic Farm & Market, 10 AM - 5 PM. Admission is $3, ages 10 and under are free.

You can really have fun with this craft. There are countless items from your craft cabinet you can pull out and substitute for items seen in this photo. To make this craft:


Materials:

  • Construction paper, 2 different colors
  • 3 pipe cleaners, bent roughly in half, various colors
  • Foam flowers from craft store, or cut from paper, various colors
  • Foam circles from craft store, or cut from paper, various colors
  • Decorative "gem" rocks from craft store, various sizes/colors
  • Glitter
  • Glue
  • Scissors

Sunday Crepes


Perfect Breakfast!

I don't know how it started but my tradition is to make crepes on Sunday. The recipe below is very forgiving-- you can leave stuff out or change ingredients, and it still works. 


Ingredients:
  • 1-1/2 cups whole milk (I rarely have whole milk and have used almond milk, skim milk, and combinations of whatever is in the house)
  • 3 large eggs
  • 3 Tablespoons sugar (I've used Stevia, only used 2 Tablespoons, again...forgiving)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Scant 5 Tablespoons unsalted butter, melted. 
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 ...

The Long Island Fleece and Fiber Fair is the first of its kind in the region to bring together the diversity of fiber arts activities! Visitors will see and learn how local artisans craft wool and other animal fiber into beautiful finished pieces of clothing and art. The fair provides two fun-filled days of demonstrations and hands-on learning that can be enjoyed by the whole family.
